The Clothing Cottage is owned and operated by St. Matthew’s Episcopal Cathedral as part of its ministry to serve the community of Laramie and the surrounding area. The goal of this project is to provide low-cost quality clothing to individuals and families and to donate any proceeds to worthwhile services within the community. Quality recycled items may be purchased in the store at 310 University on Tuesday through Friday 11-5 and Saturday 11-3. Free items are available in a bin outside the store or through a voucher in the store.

The mission of Clothing Cottage is to serve the residents of the City of Laramie and the surrounding areas. We seek donations of articles of clothing for women, men, children, and infants as well as a variety of household items. Clothing Cottage features these items in an attractive and inviting setting. No one in need is turned away. We fulfill our commitment to provide items of quality, in good condition, for the benefit of all those whose valuable patronage is appreciated. Inquiries and customers are treated with respect and courtesy.
Pricing of Merchandise
Our merchandise is donated but it is still necessary to cover our operating expenses plus fund outreach programs. Our prices compare favorably to other thrift stores in our area. We also put much work and effort in preparing our items for sale.
Donations of
clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories, books, gift-type items, sets of dishes,
pots and pans in good shape may be left during store hours. Items left
unattended encourage theft or are damaged
by the weather. Receipts for tax purposes are available.
Donations of plastic and paper bags are welcomed. We can use only clean bags. Money donations are also welcome. Please make checks payable to the Clothing Cottage.
Persons wishing to volunteer are always welcome to ask about our needs and requirements in the way of commitment. Being part of the team is hard work, but there is a wide variety of physical and not so physical processing to be done.
